Dear Mr. Hamilton:

Thank you very much for your kind mention of the ceremony in commemoration of the death of Alexander Hamilton on July 12 at Trinity Wall Street in New York City. The parish–which played a heroic role in the awful events of September 11, 2001– is eager to cooperate to honor Alexander Hamilton. We want to keep the ceremony as dignified as possible, and will be asking some of the hereditary groups, such as the Sons of the American Revolution, to provide representatives

Douglas S. Hamilton and I are compiling a list of the living descendants of Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler. It would seem that only two of the eight children left descendants who come down to the present: James Alexander and John Church. I would be glad to hear from any of your members who can show descent from these brothers.

Thank you very much for interest in honoring a proud member of the Hamilton family, Mary Rhinelander McCarl

Please note that my e-mail address has two “c”s in McCarl. It is mrmccarl@post.harvard.edu

Dear Mr. Hamilton,
I write in gratitude for the genealogy you have presented. I would like to request an updated list of [Alexander] Hamilton’s currently living relatives and their whereabouts. I have visited the Schuyler House and have read through Hamilton’s letters in the archives. Some day I hope to go to Washington as a statesman and will strive to not only implement his global political and other philosophical views, but see to it that he receives the national monument he deserves — more grand than Jefferson’s. I am a student of our founding fathers’ history and am especially grateful for your relative’s [Editor’s note: The Editor of The Connector, and President of HNGS, Larry Hamilton, Sr., is not, so far as he knows, a relative of Alexander Hamilton.] presence at that crucial time in world history.

I’m a professor at Duke University and came across the message (see below) posted on your interesting webpage. I’m trying to locate any direct descendants of Alexander Hamilton working today in the energy industry (defined loosely). That’s an unusual request, I know. Would you have any advice on how to start such a search? I’m having no luck on the internet. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
